This site is a collection of sample typefaces I've created as part of a self-directed weekly design challenge. All the fonts below are editable although not all the characters are available.
Creating fonts is a time intensive, and very lengthy process. I've created this project as a weekly challenge to push my type design in new way. I give myself a week to explore the core principles of a font, create at least the fifteen letters in uppercase or lowercase. After the week ends I move on to another.
The first fifteen letters most type designers create as they are working on a typeface are HAMBURGEFONTSIV in either uppercase or lower case. From this set of letters the rest of the typeface can be extrapolated. I look at this string of letters as a proof of concept.
